PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide modified synthetic wood enhanced in durability in order to enhance the quality of synthetic wood. SOLUTION: Synthetic wood based on wood flour and a synthetic resin is impregnated with a water repellent or water-repellent coating under vacuum and/or pressure and the impregnated wood is dried to constitute the modified synthetic wood. By this method, water repellency is imparted to a part having water penetration possibility and the synthetic wood preventing the penetration of water droplets and excellent in anti-staining properties and durability, especially freeze and fusion resistance can be obtained.
