摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently cool a battery becoming high temperature, without operating a cooling fan and wastefully consuming the electric power of the battery. <P>SOLUTION: A power source device for a vehicle is equipped with a case 2 for housing a plurality of battery modules 1, a battery temperature sensor 21 detecting the temperature of the battery module 1 housed in the case 2, an ambient temperature sensor 29 detecting the ambient temperature of the battery, a heat radiating device 30 radiating heat of the battery module 1, and a switching mechanism 35 moving the heat radiation device 30 between a contact heat radiation position and a separation position separating from the battery module. In a state with the temperature of the battery module 1 detected with a battery temperature sensor 21 being higher than the prescribed temperature and the ambient temperature detected with the ambient temperature sensor is lower than the temperature of the battery module, the switching mechanism 35 moves the heat radiating device 30 to the contact heat radiating position, and the heat radiating device 30 is brought into contact with the battery modules 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p>
