PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing the cutting edge member of a cutter, by which a difference in level formed on the rake face of the cutting edge member is prevented from being extended to the cutting edge, and also to provide a press-forming die for a green compact used for the manufacturing method. SOLUTION: Using a press-forming die 20 equipped with a plurality of punches 21, 22 and a die 23 that forms a cavity A, a powder raw material charged in the cavity A is compressed with the punches 21, 22, thereby press-forming the green compact to be used for manufacturing the cutting edge member of a cutter. In this case, the plurality of punches 21, 22 are composed of a plurality of split punches 25, 26, 31, 32 which are divided with a split face possessed extending in the direction away from or nearer to the punches, wherein the part corresponding to the cutting edge portion of the cutting member is formed by one set of split punches 25, 31.
