PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new inducing agent or inducing accelerator of hemoxygenase. SOLUTION: This 4-trifluoromethylpyrimidine derivative expressed by general formula (1) [wherein, X is phenyl having a substituent, a heteroaromatic ring which may have a substituent, general formula (1a) or general formula (1b)(in the specification); Y is hydroxy, a 2-6C cyclic or non-cyclic amino group which may have a substituent or general formula (1c)(in the specification); Z is -CH=CH-, -C≡C-, -CH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>-, -CH<SB>2</SB>O- and -CONH-] and the inducing agent or inducing accelerator of the hemoxygenase containing the same as an active ingredient are provided.
