PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projected Shoji openig and closing device having the reduced number of components and a simple constitution as well as the excellence in security. SOLUTION: The first engaging section 21 of a main arm 9 is engaged with a main guide section 31, the second engaging section 23 is engaged with an auxiliary guide section 33, and the third engaging section 25 is engaged with a Shoji side guide section 39, an auxiliary arm 15 pivots a main arm side end section 15a on the main arm 9 between a lock hook receiver 20 and a lock groove 49, a frame side end section 15b is pivoted on a rotational body 45, the main arm 9 and the auxiliary arm 15 are pulled toward to the inside of a frame 29 with the rotation of the rotational body 45 by operation of an operating section 47, the third engaging section 25 is engaged with a stile longitudinal guide section 41, the first engaging section 21 is engaged with a frame longitudinal guide section 35, the main arm 9 is moved in the frame longitudinal direction by respectively moving the first engaging section 21, the second engaging section 23 and the third engaging section 25 in the frame longitudinal direction, and a lock member 19 is interlocked with the lock groove 27 to interlock the lock hook receiver 20 with a lock hook 49.
