LIGHT-LEAKING PHOTOCATALYST FIBER

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for treating solution capable of efficiently treating an organic substance contained in a water solution to be treated which is too thick to allow light to reach inside by utilizing an optical fiber provided with a photocatalyst. SOLUTION: A light-leaking photocatalyst fiber 9 having a photocatalyst layer clad 1 comprising a layer containing TiO2in an optical fiber core 2 is produced. The light-leaking photocatalyst fiber demonstrates a photocatalyst function even in the solution which is too thick to allow the light to reach by utilizing leakage of light from inside the fiber to the photocatalyst layer due to the difference in refraction index when light is introduced from the end of the fiber and is transmitted inside the fiber.
