PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite database management system by which a related document file is acquired with good efficiency in managing a plurality of databases connected to a network. SOLUTION: The composite database management system manages the plurality of databases 10 connected to the network and comprises: an index grant means 20 granting inherent index information to a new document file stored on each of the databases 10; an index acquisition means 21 acquiring the other index information granted to the other document file associated with the new document file; and an index registration means 22 associating the granted index information with the other index information and registering the index as information on the new document file.
