PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assembly of a pneumatic tire and a rim capable of preventing damage of a band-like body in exchange of a tire, especially when the tire is removed from the rim on a basis that the band-like body is formed in a laterally lengthy flat shape in which the maximum thickness is limited and an inclination surface inclined to a direction in which width of a distal end surface is decreased is provided on at least the distal end surface side of side surfaces at both sides. SOLUTION: The assembly 1 of the pneumatic tire and the rim includes the rim 2; and the pneumatic tire 3 attached to the rim 2. In the assembly 1, the band-like body 4 comprising a sponge material extending in a tire circumferential direction and having a volume of 0.4-20% of the whole volume of the tire inner cavity is arranged in the tire inner cavity i surrounded by the rim 2 and the pneumatic tire 3. The band-like body 4 is formed in the laterally lengthy flat shape in which the maximum thickness t from a fixed surface 4A fixed to a tire inner side surface 3i or a rim inner side surface 2i is 1.0-4.5 cm and width W1 of the fixed surface 4A is larger than the thickness t in a meridian cross section including a tire rotation axis. Further, the band-like body 4 is characterized in that in the side surfaces 4C on both sides of the band-like body 4 extending both ends of the fixed surface 4A to the distal end surface 4B forming the maximum thickness t, an inclined surface 10 inclined to a direction in which width of the distal end surface 4B is decreased and having an angleθof 30-75°on an acute angle side relative to the fixed surface 4A is provided on at least distal end surface 4B side.
