Disclosed is a brittle material-metal structure (26) comprising brittle members (24, 25) and a plate-like metal piece (21). The plate-like metal piece (21) has a hold portion (22) to be pressure held by the brittle members and a non-hold portion (23) which is not to be held by the brittle members. The stress generated at the contact interfaces between the hold portion (22) and the brittle members (24, 25) is relaxed by deformation of the plate-like metal piece.
