<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storing case for a tape cassette capable of preventing a lock from being unlocked when the case falls. <P>SOLUTION: The storing case comprises a storing part 11 to store a magnetic tape cassette C, a lid part 12 having an outer plate surrounding the storing part 11, a hinge plate part 16 to connect the lid part 12 to the storing part 11 in an opening/closing manner, an engagement part 36 formed on an outer side face of the outer plate 13 of the lid part 12, a lock piece base end part 42 formed on an end edge part opposite to the hinge plate part 16 at the storing part 11, and a lock piece 17 which is supported by the lock piece base end part 42 and can be engaged with the engagement part 36.
