<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a back bottom for a bed which reduces pressure applied to the waist, back, shoulders, head, etc., of a patient by adjusting back-elevating pressure applied to the patient and applying proper back-elevating pressure according to the physique of the patient in consequence. <P>SOLUTION: The back bottom is provided with: a frame 22 having a pair of vertical bars 24 and 26 opposing each other on the side of both of ends in a width direction; a plurality of bendable back-elevating members 34 which are arranged parallel at a right angle to the vertical bars between the pair of vertical bars, both of the ends of which are connected respectively with the vertical bars and which have tensile stress; and tensile stress adjusting means 42 and 44 for adjusting the tensile stress of the back-elevating member.
