PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure reliability of a broadcasting system, by automating the determination of system maintenance timing of a retransmission system for broadcasting signals. SOLUTION: The apparatus for EPG analysis provided with a retransmission means 101 for receiving a transmitted broadcasting signal to which electronic program table information is superposed from a broadcasting station and retransmitting the broadcasting signal; an EPG collection and analysis means 102 for collecting electronic program table information retransmitted from the retransmission means 101 and analyzing the collected electronic program table information, to determine system maintenance timing from the broadcasting stop time of each broadcasting signal; and an automatic maintenance means 103 for performing the maintenance of the retransmission means under control from the EPG collection and analysis means 102. Since the EPG collection and analysis means 102 recognizes a broadcasting stop time band from the electronic program table information included in the broadcasting signal and automatically determines the timing of system maintenance, automatic maintenance scheduling for the system can be attained.
