<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for surely removing toner stored on a fur brush without lowering throughput of the image forming apparatus necessary or more, when cleaning the fur brush in the image forming apparatus using the fur brush on cleaning of a transfer roller of a transfer member transferring a developer on a recording material from an image carrier. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has a bias applying means 43b for applying bias on the fur brush. The apparatus applies reverse polarity bias to bias applied on the fur brush 42 on the fur brush 42 at a prescribed timing, performs fur brush cleaning operation removing the developer from the fur brush 42, predicts a developer amount adhered to the fur brush 42, and controls prescribed timing performing fur brush cleaning operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
