PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel function for confirming a selection target node within a standard packaged for an existent product without providing a novel means or standard. SOLUTION: A DVTR 1 establishes connection with a node (PC1) selected by a user out of nodes (PC1, DTV3) connected to a 1394 cable and transmits information indicating the selection of the PC1 to the PC1 through the connection established with the PC1.
