ZINC OXIDE SINGLE CRYSTAL AND ITS PRODUCING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zinc oxide single crystal having a particular uniform shape and few defects; and to provide a method for producing the same, by which such a single crystal can be produced with good reproducibility. SOLUTION: The zinc oxide single crystal is constituted of a pedestal part having a six-sided pyramid form and a needle-like part which is extended from the top part of the pedestal part and has a diameter of <1,000 nm.
