PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically adjust incidence of rays of the sun for the vehicular window where the relative positional relationship with the sun is ever-changing in a light shielding device for the window. SOLUTION: The light shielding device is equipped with a shielding means 20 adjusting quantity of incident light entering from the window glass 110 of the vehicle 100 to the cabin, an illumination sensor 30 detecting illumination by the rays L of the sun, a date and hour detection means 40 detecting date and hour information, a GPS50 detecting the positional information of the vehicle 100, an inclination sensor 60 detecting the inclination information of the vehicle 100, a memory means 70 storing the standard data, an calculation means 80 calculating the position of the sun relative to the vehicle 100 based on the date and hour information, the positional information, the inclination information, and the standard data, and a control means 90 controlling the adjustment of the quantity of incident light by the shielding means 20 based on the positional information of the sun and the illumination.
