RECORDING AND REPRODUCING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and reproducing apparatus which prevents the content having same contents with the outputted content from being reproduced simultaneously with the outputted content and also reproduces it as the content of high quality at the time of reproduction. SOLUTION: The recording and reproducing apparatus is equipped with a recording area 115 which records contents; a communication processing section 119 which outputs a related content which is a content having the same contents with the content recorded on a recording area 115 to an external recording medium 160; and an encoding/decoding processing section 117 which capture unique information of the external recording medium 160. When related content is outputted to the external recording medium 160, by using the unique information, the encoding/decoding processing section 117 changes the content recorded on the recording area 115 into the status where the recorded content cannot be reproduced if the unique information is not utilized.
