PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cargo work device, capable of avoiding collision with a container placed on the ground. SOLUTION: For lifting a spreader device 8 only, run of a container carrier 1 is limited until the spreader device 8 is detected by a cam switch for a step number selected by a step number selecting switch for selecting a lifting position for the spreader device 8. For lifting the spreader device 8 having containers connected, it is limited till the spreader device 8 is detected by a cam switch for a switch for one step above the step number selected by the step number selecting switch. Collision of the spreader device 8 or the container C connected to the spreader device 8 being lifted with the container C placed on the ground is thus avoided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
