Inductive heating device and process of billets with a billets heating coil

The device has a single- or multi-layer block heating coil (4) with one or more successive, electrically isolated zones (Z1-Zn) supplied with electrical energy from a 3-phase supply via a switching device and control unit. The coil has several zones that are synchronously regulated with respect to frequency and phase of the inductive field. A converter (2) with variable frequency and modular design is provided for current supply to each zone. AN Independent claim is also included for the following: an inductive block heating method.
