PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating film pigment for hydrogen gas detection, a coating film for hydrogen gas detection, and a hydrogen gas detection tape capable of detecting a leak spot of hydrogen gas on a pipe, a container or the like with high sensitivity.

SOLUTION: The coating film for hydrogen gas detection and the hydrogen gas detection tape including a pigment constituted of an aggregate 6 of crystal particles mainly composed of tungstic oxide and including a catalyst metal 2 in the oxidation state on the surface of the crystal particle tungstic oxide are applied on the surface of a gas pipe, a container or the like containing hydrogen gas, and reduced by injection of protons generated by dissociation of the hydrogen gas, to thereby detect a hydrogen gas leak by a hue change.
