PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To process an image based on the characteristic of the image. SOLUTION: A texture generation device 14 extracts a repeated component that repeatedly appears in the image and is a component of a similar image from the image, and adjusts the arrangement of the extracted repeated component by arranging the distance on a screen of the repeated component, interpolates a representative value of the image of an area containing no repeated component of the image into the image of other area where the arrangement of the repeated component is not adjusted, whereby generates a repeated component in the interpolated image and characteristic information showing the characteristic of the arrangement thereof. An image reproduction device 15 acquires the repeated component that repeatedly appears in the image and is a component of a similar image and characteristic information showing the characteristic of the arrangement thereof in the image, and reproduces the image based on the acquired characteristic information.
