CONSTRUCTION METHOD FOR CONNECTED AND WIDENED SHIELD TUNNEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a construction method for a connected and widened shield tunnel which enables the width of a connecting section between shield tunnels to be sufficiently secured. SOLUTION: In this construction method for the connected and widened shield tunnel, a horizontal propulsion machine 22 is started from the inside of a master shield machine 10, after a liner which can be cut by the shield machine 10 is cut and removed, a liner which can be cut by the other master shield machine 10a is cut and removed so as to reach the inside of the shield machine 10a; and a connected starting section 24 to which a casing 36 is connected is formed between the shield tunnels. A widened excavating section 37 with a cutter face 36d is provided on the surface of the connected starting section 24 in the same direction as excavating directions of the shield machines 10 and 10a. The excavating section 37 and the shield machines 10 and 10a are made to concurrently perform excavation, and a widened segment 40 in a shape wherein the shield tunnel and a widened connecting section 12 are connected to each other is installed at the rear of them so that the connected and widened shield tunnel can be constructed between the shield tunnels.
