<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and inexpensive heat exchanger having high heat exchange performance and low pressure loss. <P>SOLUTION: The heat exchanger comprises a first heat transfer tube 7 for making first fluid flow, a plurality of second heat transfer tubes 8 that are arranged in the first heat transfer tube 7 and make second fluid flow, and a joint section 9 equipped with a direct passage 10 and a branch passage 11 communicating with the direct passage 10. The direct passage 10 of the joint section 9 is connected to the first heat transfer tube 7, and the second heat transfer tubes 8 exposed from an end of the first heat transfer tube 7 are exposed from the branch passage 11.
