Even when a power supply device mounted for an engine is a battery-less or the battery is in the discharge state, it is possible to surely start the engine. Power generated by an AC generator (11) is supplied via a regulator (12) to a power supply line L. The power supply line L1 is connected to a capacitor (13) and an electronic control unit (ECU) (14). Via a first switch (17), a fuel injection system (FI system) (15) is connected to the power supply line L1. Voltage of the power supply line L1 is monitored by the electronic control unit (14). When a kick start is performed, the first switch (17) is set to the OFF state and it is switched to the ON state when the measured voltage has reached the reference voltage value.
