The elastomer sleeve [14] is mounted on the mandrel [29] of a loading tool [28] and is inserted into the space between a pair of profiled clamping jaws [36,37]. The mandrel is then withdrawn and a second tool [66] feeds the electrical cable end [67] through the sleeve. The end of the cable locates in a guide funnel.
