A measuring device for detecting a DNA sequence by means of impedance spectroscopy. Said measuring device comprises a gold electrode whose surface is covered by a self-assembled mono layer (SAM) of ident molecules which are covalently coupled on the side facing away from the electrode to oligonucleotides which are complementary to the DNA sequence to be detected and which hybridize therewith; a hybridization buffer forming the electrodes; a reference electrode; optionally a counter electrode and means for applying a direct current and alternating current component, in order to adjust the measuring frequency and for measuring the impedance of the working electrode/electrolyte system. The invention is characterized in that the ionic strength of the electrolyte ranges from 0.005 to 0.15 mol/1 and the means for adjusting the measuring frequency is configured in such a way that it is possible to adjust the measuring frequency between 17 kHz and 24 kHz. The measuring device can be used to detect DNA sequences from real samples in a quick, specific and cost-effective manner. |
