PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluoride optical fiber which has long-term reliability, even when the bending diameter is small and that can be miniaturized. SOLUTION: The optical fiber is composed of fluoride glass and the clad outer diameter is 10μm or larger and 100μm or smaller. As a result, the m-value is increased and a long term reliability is given and a practical fiber loss is obtained, when the clad outer diameter is 10μm or larger. An optical fiber amplifier which amplifies signal light inputted to an amplifying fiber by excited light inputted to the amplifying fiber is built in a case which houses the amplifying fiber at a bending diameter of 70μm or smaller and mounted on a module of an MSA size, while assuring long-term reliability.
