PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a prevention method of the performance degradation of a power cable and a power cable executing this prevention method of performance degradation, for preventing the progress of degradation with time as much as possible in an insulation layer of the power cable, even if an electric field is apt to be generated or moisture infiltrates inside a layer coating the outside of a linear conductor. SOLUTION: The power cable 10 is provided with a semiconductive layer 12 made of aπelectron system conductive polymer material in which volume specific resistivity is adjusted as required by a doping method and which is coated outside a linear conductor 11, and an insulation layer 13 coated outside the semiconductive layer 12.
