The vessel for the cultivation of microbe colonies, from a primary sample, has an electronic data storage system as an adhesive label to be used for machine writing and reading to give information on the primary sample, its origin and/or instructions for the laboratory. The memory has a non-erasable section to show the type of vessel, the nutrient and protective filling, and the use-by date. The memory has an antenna for remote writing/reading from a distance of several decimeters. The antenna (2) and a transponder chip (3) are at the side wall (1) of the vessel.
