The unit has a gearshift lever (5) arranged in a cover sheet (3) through an opening (4), and surrounding a vibration absorber (8) in the area of the opening. The vibration absorber is designed as a slotted spring socket. The vibration absorber is detachably coupled with the gearshift over a rest connection. The socket is made from a synthetic material e.g. plastic and thermoplastic material such as polyethylene or polypropylene.
