PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device for optimizing the image quality of a display device without preparing each dedicated display driving circuit differently when each video image signal fed to two or more display devices with different optical characteristics is treated. SOLUTION: When a microcomputer 14 drives only a direct viewing type liquid crystal display panel 10, a liquid crystal driving circuit 2 is controlled with a combination of set values(combination of set values of control signals for adjusting brightness, contrast, gamma, and the like), which are optimum for the optical characteristics of the direct viewing type liquid crystal display panel 10. When only a finder type liquid crystal display panel 11 is driven, the liquid crystal driving circuit 2 is controlled with a combination of set values optimum for the optical characteristics of the finder type liquid crystal display panel 11. When both the direct viewing type liquid display panel 10 and the finder type liquid crystal display panel 11 are driven, the liquid crystal driving circuit 2 is controlled with a combination of an almost intermediate value.
