PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire having excellent steering stability capable of enhancing the durability of a carcass and reducing the tire weight. SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire has a bead apex 9, and a clinch apex 10 extending outwardly in the radial direction from a bead part 4 and forming an outer face of the tire. The elongation of a carcass cord when the load of 60N is applied in the tensile test is set to be 2-3%. The height Ha of a return part 6B of the carcass 6 is set to be≤0.6 time the sectional height of the tire when the internal pressure of 5% of the regular internal pressure is filled in the tire. The height Hb of the bead apex 9 is set in a range of 0.3-0.4 time the sectional height of the tire. In the bead apex, the Pb thickness Tpb at the bead upper point Pb is set to be 0.8-1.5 mm. The clinch apex has the maximum clinch thickness Tcmax of 4.0-5.0 mm at the clinch upper point Pc at the height equal to the bead upper point Pb. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
