摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high carbon steel sheet having excellent wear resistance, impact resistance, fatigue resisting properties, and hydrogen cracking resistance, and whose production cost is low. SOLUTION: In the method for producing a high carbon steel sheet having excellent intergranular cracking resistance and toughness, when steel having a composition comprising, by mass, 0.25 to 0.60% C, 0.20 to 0.65% Mn,≤0.70% Si,≤0.025% P,≤0.50% Cr, and 0.005 to 0.070% Nb, and, if required, comprising one or more kinds of metals selected from≤0.50% Mo, 0.005 to 0.050% Ti, and 0.0003 to 0.0050% B, and the balance substantially Fe, is subjected to continuous casting to produce a slab, cooling is performed in such a manner that the average cooling rate in the range from the temperature at the time of teeming into a mold to the average temperature of 1,100°C in the cross-section of the slab is controlled to≥5°C/min, successively, heating is performed to≥1,150°C, and hot rolling is performed.
