PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary cutter capable of constantly maintaining a clearance of a fixed blade and a rotating blade within a certain range without being influenced by thermal expansion, capable of favorably cutting a label, capable of extending a maintenance term of a knife edge and capable of lowering maintenance cost. SOLUTION: Variation of the clearance between the rotating blade 1 and the fixed blade 10 due to temperature change is restrained by forming a material of a side frame 5 to hold the rotating blade and the fixed blade of a steel material having a thermal expansion coefficient roughly in the same degree as that of a parent material 1a of the rotating blade and the fixed blade and forming width of cemented carbide alloy made blade edge chips 1b, 10b within the range of 4 to 10mm. The fixed blade 10 makes it possible to carry out fine adjustment of the clearance between itself and the rotating blade by pushing work by a wedge by displacing a fixed blade adjusting block 11 provided free to displace in a wedge shape by an adjusting bolt.
