<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peptide characterized as comprising desmosine and isodesmosine which are amino acids contained only in elastin at a high concentration and definitely discriminated from collagen peptide. <P>SOLUTION: The peptide obtained by degrading a tissue composed of elastic fibers of fishes with a high elastin content, especially an aortic bulb with an enzyme, an acid or an alkali or its aqueous solution is provided.
