PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a liquid crystal display device capable of employing both inversion driving by a common constant driving method and time-division driving even when the number of data lines which are driven on a time-division basis is even. SOLUTION: The present invention is a liquid crystal panel driving method of driving a liquid crystal panel 1 equipped with a plurality of pixels 13 each having 1st and 2nd data line groups 18<SB>1</SB>and 18<SB>2</SB>each consisting of an even number of data lines and a common electrode 16 held at a constant potential. The liquid crystal panel driving method includes a step of sequentially selecting data lines 12 of the 1st data line group 18<SB>1</SB>and 2nd data group 18<SB>2</SB>and a step of writing data signals to corresponding pixels 3 on a time division basis by supplying the data signals to the selected data lines 12. The order in which the plurality of data lines 12 are selected and the polarity of the data signal written to the plurality of pixels 13 respectively are determined so that the polarity of the data signal supplied to the data lines 12 selected from the 1st data group 18<SB>1</SB>and the polarity of the data signal supplied to data lines 12 selected from the 2nd data line group 18<SB>2</SB>are different from each other.
