PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder/reproducer and a reproducer which make digest reproduction for reproducing only the important scene of a television program content. SOLUTION: The recorder/reproducer comprises: a section 15 for generating a recording signal being recorded on recording media in a television program content; a section 17 for detecting an important scene of the television program content by analyzing the recording signal and generating auxiliary data indicative of the important scene thus detected; and a recording/reproducing section for recording the recording signal and the auxiliary data on video media and displaying the digest of the television program content by reproducing the recording signal based on the auxiliary data.
