Production of a beginning of a lance of a gas conducting system for receiving a gas cartridge comprises enlarging the diameter of some sections of a metal pipe in the area where the beginning of the lance is to be created. Before enlargement, one tube section is arranged in or over the tube of the lance (2) in the region of the beginning of the lance. Production of a beginning of a lance of a gas conducting system for receiving a gas cartridge comprises enlarging some sections of a metal pipe from a first diameter (D1) to a second larger diameter (D2) in the area where the beginning of the lance is to be created. Before enlargement, one tube section is arranged in or over the tube of the lance (2) in the region of the beginning of the lance. The tube and tube section are enlarged in sections from the first diameter (D1) to the second diameter (D2). An independent claim is also included for a lance of a gas conducting system.
