The group of inventions is intended for use at application of labels from infinite polymeric tape on the containers of round and square shape with rounding. A method includes the supply of labeling tape 7 from the bobbin 6 to the surface of vacuum drum 14, putting glue on it, its cutting into separate labels, supply of containers 4 to the position of putting label on them, pressing label against container and removal of containers 5 with applied label. In the area located next to the position of the first contact of tape 7 with the surface of drum 14, it is subjected to thermal treatment. For this, the trajectory of movement of tape 7 in that area has the form of the letter V or U and the apex of loop is heated in the area to the temperature of 75-95 DEGREE C, after which it is supplied to the drum. The surface of tape, which was located from inside of loop, can be placed on the drum surface. Device for implementation of method includes the devices for coating with labeling tape of loop and its heating in the area of apex of this loop. It is optimal to give them the form of, at least, three non-driven guide pulleys. The first and the third of them, in the direction of movement of labeling tape, are located opposite to each other, and the second roller is located out of the straight line, which connects the centers of axes of first and third rollers, and is equipped with a device for adjustment of heating of its surface.
