The method involves mounting a removable device on a single orifice (4) of a barrel, where the orifice has an internal thread of 2 inch. The difference of pressure between an injected gas and the gas contained in the barrel is measured by the indirect measurement of liquid contained in the barrel by using a manometer. The filling of the barrel is automated from the indication provided by a level measuring device. An independent claim is also included for a device for implementing a process of withdrawal or filling of liquid contained in a barrel.
