A METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING THE POLICY INFORMATION BETWEEN THE NETWORK DEVICES

A method for transmitting the policy information between the network devices extends the protocol type of the message of the second layer, the third layer or the higher application layer between the broad band user access device of the uplink over IP and BRAS, adds a policy information transmission protocol, carries the policy information by the policy information transmission protocol message. The policy information transmission protocol message includes the policy information transmission type field, operation type field and the policy information content field, the different types of the policy information are distinguished by the policy information transmission type field; the transmission of the policy information is achieved by the point-to-point communication or the broadcast communication of the second layer, or by the unicast or the broadcast of the third layer or the higher layer. The usage of this invention can transmit the policy information, and thereby can prevent the embezzlement of the accounts and the attack of the hacker, and make QOS dynamic adjustment of the different users by the broad band user access device easily, and make the centralized maintenance and management by the network device easily.
