PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and reproducing device which properly acquires desired content data. SOLUTION: When the recording and reproducing device 200 recognizes a request to receive and reproduce content data of a TV broadcast program concerning the content predetermined by an input preset by an input means 260, the recording and reproducing device 200 recognizes a genre and a keyword of the content data for the request. Based on a program information table produced from EPG data, program basic information related to the genre and the keyword is retrieved. History information relating to the genre and the keyword is produced, and an appearance frequency of the combination is calculated, and user's taste is determined. Reception is carried out based on the program basic information containing the requested genre or keyword and corresponding to the history information of a high appearance frequency.
