PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart light transmission and an insulating property, and to effectively prevent nonspecific adsorption of a substance on a detection face. SOLUTION: This intersubstance interaction detecting part/the like is provided with a light transmitting substrate (base material layer 11), a light-transmissive and insulating carbon compound layer 12 layered on the substrate, a reaction area 2 formed in an upper face side of the carbon compound layer 12 to provide an intersubstance interaction field, and counter electrodes E<SB>1</SB>, E<SB>2</SB>capable of impressing an electric field to a medium M stored or held in the reaction area 2, and the carbon compound layer 12 is formed of diamond or/and diamond-like carbon modified with a functional group charged with a negative charge.
