PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously realize the prevention of leakage of a refrigerant, securement of safety, and a reduction in size by appropriating the surface pressures of a seal member held between a plurality of housing members to prevent the size and quantity of fastening members from being uselessly increased. SOLUTION: This compressor comprises at least two housing members for storing a compression mechanism, the seal member held between these housing members, and the fastening members integrally fastening these housing members to the seal members. The surface presssure applied to the seal member which is produced by the fastening with the fastening members are set so that the sealing limit pressure of the seal member gets larger than the maximum working pressure of the compressor and smaller than the burst pressure thereof.
