Door lock/unlock system

A controller (1) compares the first lock/unlock state detected by a door lock state detector (2) during a door open state with a second lock/unlock state detected when the door changes from an open state to a closed state. The controller then maintains the state of a door lock mechanism (6) if the detected lock/unlock states correspond to each other, and in the first lock/unlock state if otherwise. An independent claim is also included for a method in controlling a lock/unlock state of a door of a vehicle.
