A transmission having a first input shaft X 1 connecting a first clutch D 1 , a second input shaft X 2 , inserted in the first input shaft X 1 , and connecting to a second clutch D 2 , an output shaft Xo, a counter shaft Xs, and an idle shaft X<SUB>R</SUB>, is provided in the present invention. In the transmission, a gear G 17 of the counter shaft Xs engaging with a gear G 3 fixedly carried on the first input shaft X 1 and a coupling C 4 attached to the gear G 17 , are arrayed in the side space SP of an outer gear G 12 of the output shaft Xo.
