PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection method for the natural ground under a vehicle track, which easily performs inserting construction into the natural ground, while using a plate having the large plate thickness as a protection plate. SOLUTION: In this protection method for the natural ground, a pair of guide pipes 6a and 6b are arranged in the natural ground under the vehicle track; a flexible cutting tool 10 such as a wire saw is wound on pulleys 21a, 21b, 22a and 22b respectively movably stored in the pipe axis direction in these guide pipes 6a and 6b so as to cross the natural ground between the guide pipes 6a and 6b; and the protection plate 2 is simultaneously inserted into its cutting part while cutting the natural ground by this flexible cutting tool 10. The natural ground is cut by winding the flexible cutting tool 10 on the pulleys 21a, 21b, 22a and 22b so as to becomes a multistage shape between the guide pipes 6a and 6b.
