The heat insulated container for use as a means of storage for an operating medium for a motor vehicle's engine, especially a cryotank for condensed gases, consists of at least one inner container to hold a condensed gas and which, heat insulated, is contained within an outer container (10,11). At least sections of the inner container and/or of the outer container consist of plastic, and these sections at least partially have a coating or an inlay of metal and/or of nanoparticles. An independent claim is included for a method for the manufacture of a heat insulated tank whereby the container is built up from the inside outwards.
