<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with complicated movement associated with the ordinary opening/closing of a door, and to prevent ordinary opening/closing operation of the door from being hindered. <P>SOLUTION: This door device opening/closing one opening formed in a vehicle by using two doors with open ends facing each other is equipped with a door connecting mechanism for connecting the open ends of the respective doors together. The door connecting mechanism comprises a striker 50 which is arranged at the open end of one door, and a latch part 40 which is arranged at the open end of the other door and which is provided in such a manner as to be engageable with the striker 50. When the respective doors in a closed state are subjected to an impact from the outside of the vehicle, the striker 50 and the latch part 40 are relatively moved and put into a meshed state. Thus, since the door connecting mechanism does not have to be operated in the opening/closing of the respective doors, the complicated operations associated with the ordinary opening/closing of the door are made unnecessary. Additionally, since the door connecting mechanism is actuated when subjected to the impact, the situation of the hindrance to the ordinary opening/closing operation of the door is prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
