The system comprises an intravesicular device having a conductance probe adapted for determining a urine conductance in the bladder. The method comprises determining a urine volume in a urinary bladder comprising deploying in the urinary bladder an intravesicular device having a conductance probe adapted for determining a urine conductance in the bladder. Urine volume in the bladder is obtained from the conductance determinations.
